Christmas is coming and we have started with the decorations in our classroom as we really love painting with our hands, we have been giving some colour to a white Christmas tree!
While some Butterflies were painting, the others had a tray full of sand. Inside this, they had to look for different coloured pieces. Each time they found one, it had to be classified on the circle with the same colour.
Today Miss Anna has hidden some wooden pieces into cornstarch. These ones had different shapes and colours, but the purpose of this activity was that each time we found a piece, we had to classify it into a box with the same colour as it.
We enjoyed a lot doing this learning experimentation; getting dirty with this new touch and textur. Cornstarch is really soft and lovely to play with!
Butterflies class has been exploring squares and triangles through different activities for the last couple of weeks. We have read a wonderful story about finding shapes everywhere, and listened to a couple of songs about shapes.
Children have enjoyed participating in a hide and seek game to find triangles around the classroom, sorting square stickers by color and using wooden sticks to create shapes among other learning experiences.
We hope you’ll enjoy taking a look at these photos!!
Butterflies class has been exploring circles this last week through different painting, modeling, sticking experiences in English lessons in order to continue developing their fine motor skills, and they have also engaged in songs and stories to help them develop their language skills and expand their vocabulary.
We are sure most of you have already read the wonderful book titled «Press here» by Herve Tullet , but for those of you who haven’t yet , here’s a video of the story children listened to this week.
We would like to share with you a few pictures of some of the activities that have been going on in the classroom.
